In a lot of ways, Cherokee Elementary School fifth grader Logan Treadwell is like any other 10-year-old girl.
She enjoys sports — especially gymnastics, tennis and skiing — likes to read the “Dairy of a Wimpy Kid” book series, she has a dog named Pilot and she can’t sit still in her chair a few days before Christmas.
But Logan is different than most kids in her school in one particular way. She has Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that, unlike Type 2 diabetes, was not contracted because of her lifestyle choices.
