Registration is open now for the 10th annual City of Buckeye Marathon, and discount prices will start going up Oct. 31.

The event, which features a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run, takes place Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024. The marathon route starts in the Sun City Festival community before making its way around the White Tank Mountains and ending at the runway of Buckeye Municipal Airport.

This marathon is run on a USATF Certified Course and serves as a Boston Marathon/national qualifier.

Early pricing through Oct. 31 is marathon $80, half marathon $50, 10K $40, 5K $25, and 1-mile fun run $20. Prices gradually increase in the months after that.

Race-day pricing will be marathon $110, half marathon $80, 10K $65, 5K $50, and 1-mile fun run $30.

Proceeds benefit the city of Buckeye Youth Scholarship Fund, giving kids the opportunity to participate in recreational activities throughout the city.

Known for its downhill and fast course, marathoners in Buckeye will drop more than 530 feet in elevation from the start to finish. The Southwest Valley course will have a closure time of six hours, requiring a minimum pace time of 13:45/mile.
