A day care center can be operated at a charter school at 207 N. Mesa Drive in the downtown residence district, the Mesa Board of Adjustment decided recently.
The board voted unanimously July 7 to approve a special use permit in a consent agenda with other items, with Adam Gunderson absent.
“So this request is for a special use permit to allow for a day care center associated with a charter school in the DR-3 district. The charter school has been located in the former YMCA building and now they’re looking to add younger children’s classrooms at the site and they would be day-care-aged children,” Mesa Staff Planner Jennifer Gniffke said in a study session prior to the meeting. “The SUP request is for the day care, which will occupy two classrooms in the 30,227-square-foot school.”
