Charles R. Belzner, 69Charles R. Belzner, 69, of Apache Junction, passed away April 10, 2008 after a short illness. An Arizona native, Mr. Belzner was born in Clifton and raised in Coolidge. He served in the Navy during the Cold War as a radioman on the Defense Early Warning line, flying between Midway Island and Alaska.After graduating from ASU, Phoenix College and Pomona, Mr. Belzner spent his career in corrections establishing the first half-way house in Phoenix. Later he served as a hearing examiner for the Federal Parole Commission. After retirement in 1989, Mr. Belzner enjoyed inventing, artwork and motorhome adventures. He is survived by his his wife, Marcy; brother, Jack; four children; and three grandchildren. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 24 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek, Ariz.
