Charles Fabian Woodland, a longtime resident of Surprise, passed away July 18, 2021, at the age of 63. Charlie was born and raised in the Phoenix area. And, with the exception of being a Marine, lived his life here. Besides spending time with friends and family, Charlie loved baseball, camping, and his job, driving a truck for FedEx. In his 35-year career as a driver Charlie won 16 Arizona State Truck Driving Championships. He actually placed in the top three every year that he could complete since 1987. He also place 2nd at Nationals two times. His dad told him that if you enjoy what you do, you will never work a day in your life. Well Charlie always said that he never felt like he was going to work because he loved it so much. Charlie wasn’t just a good truck driver, he was one of the best. Charlie is survived by his loving wife Roni; children Joseph, Charli Jo and her husband Brian, Josh and his wife Chelsey, Dakota, and Mattie; grandchildren Ethan, Cassi, Brody, and Brayden; his brother Enoch Scott, sisters Donna Conley, Kathy Rolison, and Marilynn Woodland. And many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, too numerous to mention. Charlie was preceded in death by his father Enoch Arden, mother Sharada Mae, and nephew Danny Services for Charlie will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:30 pm at The Vista Arts in Surprise, 15660 N. Parkview Place, Surprise.
