PHOENIX - Charles Edward Glas, formerly of Chippewa, Pa., passed away on Oct. 23, 2016 at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale. He was born March 10, 1931 in Baden, Pa., the son of the late William and Estella Glas. He retired from the Air National Guard after 36 years of service. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Ann; two sons, Charles (Roberta) Glas, of Ponte Vedra, Fla., and Roger (Suzanne) Glas, of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Brittany (Gary) Trubl of Columbus, Ohio, and Cassandra (Jacob) Coash, of Phoenix; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Connor; three brothers, William, of Pennsylvania, Donald, of Florida, Richard, of Pennsylvania; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 9 to 11:30 a.m. with prayers and funeral ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. He will be laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Condolences for the family may be left at www.menkefuneralhome.com.
