Charges dropped against husband, brother-in-law of former LD14 candidate

Charges against Nathan Hunsaker, husband of former Legislative District 14 Arizona House of Representatives candidate Lalani Hunsaker, and his brother, Stephen Hunsaker, have been terminated in Mesa Municipal Court.

The misdemeanor charges stemmed from a July 2024 incident at an LD14 Republican Party meeting in Gilbert that Lalani Hunsaker and her husband were attending. The charges alleged disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing after an argument involving LD14 leaders and attendees. The charges against Nathan Hunsaker also included one count of assault.

The case wended its way from the Gilbert Municipal Court to the Highland Justice Court, both of which ended in a recusal, before it moved to Mesa.
