ANIMAL ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

Chandler woman appeals judge’s decision about 13 seized dogs

Municipal court ruling prohibited McKinley from having any animals returned to her

A Chandler woman has appealed a judge’s decision in an animal seizure hearing, the city of Chandler announced late last week in a news release.

Sydney McKinley, 48, also known as April McKinley and April McLaughlin, petitioned Chandler Municipal Court to release 55 animals that were seized Sept. 22 from her home.

At the end of an afternoon-long hearing Oct. 11, Judge Michelle Lue Sang ruled none of those animals would be returned to McKinley and would instead remain in the custody of the Arizona Humane Society.
