Chandler USD approves $427K increase to cost of Galveston Elementary rebuild

Increases to Orcutt Winslow contract were approved on consent agenda

An item approved by the Chandler Unified School District Governing Board last week will add to the cost of a major project at an elementary school.

By unanimously approving the consent agenda at its Dec. 13 regular meeting, the board added about $427,000 to its contract with design Orcutt Winslow as part of the Galveston Elementary rebuild process.

District staff initially estimated the rebuild to cost less than $24 million and created an initial contract with Orcutt Winslow in December of last year based on a design fee that’s 5.4% of the total project cost.
