Chandler Unified denies ‘contingency fund’ following board member’s rumor

The Chandler Unified School District Governing Board had one of its own board members call out the board last week.

At a June 14 meeting, a board member and one public commenter talked about a fund that, according to a district spokesperson, doesn’t exist.

Spokesperson Stephanie Ingersoll clarified the term “contingency fund,” for which board member Kurt Rohrs and one member of the public called for more district transparency, is not the name of any of the dozens of main types of funds Arizona districts possess.
