Chandler to spend $145K for tree inventory

One of the items the Chandler City Council approved Thursday, as part of the consent agenda at its regular meeting, was a $145,000 appropriation for a tree inventory.

In April, according to a staff report, council adopted a resolution that entered the city into a grant agreement with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management for a tree inventory, tree asset management software system and an urban forest management plan.

This agreement allows the city to receive $40,000 in federal funds to be used by March 31, 2024, the report says.
