Chandler to implement new utility rates Jan. 1

Council member Stewart decided to support rate hikes

After a lengthy multi-step process and a mid-October hearing on utility rates, the Chandler City Council has decided to raise many of its utility rates, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

The rates were discussed in a council public work session July 20, in a city-staffed public meeting Sept. 13 and in a public hearing Oct. 19 just before a tentative adoption of a rate ordinance.

Council passed final adoption of the new rates at its Nov. 6 meeting by a unanimous vote.
