Chandler to add more than 40 full-time jobs to city payroll

Thirty jobs due to adding ambulance service

Chandler’s City Council has increased its overall full-time employee count by a few dozen each of the past few years.

An even larger overall increase in staff slated for fiscal 2027, which starts July 1 of this year, is due in part to the city taking on in-house ambulance services. But its new city manager has made a bold promise.

John Pombier, who was brought on board as interim city manager and given the permanent job in November, is leading many of the city budget discussions this spring in his first year in the role.
