Chandler ended contract with Flock Safety on Aug. 7 after misuse

Flock Safety cameras similar to this one in Chandler were to be dismantled after Police Chief Bryan Chapman announced Aug. 7 that his department’s terminating its relationship with the surveillance camera company. Chandler spokesperson Matt Burdick announced Aug. 27 that the city has covered all 36 of the cameras that were mounted around the city when the contract was terminated.

A spokesman for the city of Chandler says all Flock Safety license plate reader cameras in the city are either covered or down.

Matt Burdick notified media outlets Aug. 27 in a follow-up of Chandler Police directives issued Aug. 7.

Burdick stated “all of the existing installed Flock cameras in Chandler have been covered so they are no longer capturing images of vehicles.”
