At its December regular meeting, the Chandler Unified School District Governing Board completed a key step in its ongoing bonding process.
The board unanimously agreed to sell Series C, or its third and final series, of about $295 million in 2019 bonds. The $95.25 million sale will add to the bond debt the district already owes.
In a detailed presentation, Randie Stein of STIFEL talked about many aspects of district finances related to bond sales. One graph shows existing debt — not including the Series C bond sale — shows the district will be paying off progressively less in interest on bond debt each fiscal year, until it’s paying almost all on the principal by 2038-39.
