Chandler school board keeps ASBA for 1 more year

After a lengthy discussion, the Chandler Unified School District Governing Board voted July 10 to add one more year to its relationship with the Arizona School Boards Association.

With board member Kurt Rohrs abstaining, the board voted 4-0 to a $14,930, one-year extension of one of its contracts with the ASBA. The contract covers retention of historical data, access to its BoardDocs history and professional development opportunities for current and new board members.

Rohrs said he was under the impression that the board’s decision last year to shop for alternative organizations to the ASBA would be for all purposes.
