Chandler school board approves small policy change, despite opposition

In the minds of four Chandler Unified School District Governing Board members, several district administrators and an attorney, a proposed verbiage change to a board policy discussed at the board’s June 26 meeting was a minor alteration.

Not so, said board member Kurt Rohrs.

Rohrs, claiming the policy restricts free speech, provoked a lengthy discussion and then voted against the addition of the words “superintendent designee” to policy KDDA.
