A detailed request by a Chandler resident to create public speaking opportunities at more types of meetings appears to have sparked discussion among city leaders.
Chandler businessman and activist Les Minkus submitted a 15-page formal request to Chandler city government to create a call to the public as an automatic part of all city study and work sessions.
Minkus contends the mayor and Chandler councilors have often crunched much information and possibly have already made up their minds about important votes on approvals or measures where the public isn’t speaking to council until a regular meeting is held — often just before a vote.
