Chandler primary elections have been set for Aug. 2, according to a news release from the city. Registered voters in Chandler will vote for Mayor and three City Councilmembers. They will also determine the status of Proposition 470, which would give City Council members the authority to set the annual spending limit as opposed to a state-wide limit set in 1980.
According to the city website, July 22 is the last possible day to request a mailed early ballot for the election. The last day to vote early in-person is July 29.

Mayoral candidates for Chandler are Kevin Hartke, who currently serves in the position, and Ruth Jones. City Councilmember candidates consist of Angel Encinas, Darla Gonzalez, Matt Orlando, Jane Poston, Farhana Shifa and write-in candidate Cody Hannah. Voters cannot select more than three candidates for the City Council.
Proposition 470, also known as Home Rule Option, does not come at any additional expense to Chandler taxpayers and has been continuously approved by voters since 1982.
