Posted

Thursday, the Chandler Police Department released information about a Tuesday-evening shooting that ended with two people dead.

In a news release, Chandler Police said about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a residence near Arizona Avenue and Queen Creek Road. The caller told police that a woman had been shot by a man at the home.

When officers arrived, two people were able to exit the home unharmed.

Officers then located two dead people inside the home.

Chandler Police said the investigation determined that Michelle Hicks, a 45-year-old Chandler resident, had been fatally shot by 49-year-old Rafael Quezada.

Quezada then fatally shot himself. A gun was located inside the home by police.

No other information was released Thursday.
