Chandler police tout benefits of Real-Time Crime Center

​When Chandler Police Chief Bryan Chapman steps into his department’s new real-time crime center, his eyes light up when he sees all the data being collected or sent to officers handling calls.

The RTCC, as it’s being called, is a high-tech room at the Chandler Police Department’s main downtown station devoted to supplemental dispatch information.

With a handful of multi-screen computer workstations and large screens showing information about recent calls, the center helps with many functions, including some that communications staff (formerly known as dispatchers) don’t always have time or immediate resources to look up.
