The Chandler Police Department recently released more information about a March 29 incident in which an officer shot and killed a suspect.
Police said the incident began when they were called to an Ace Hardware near Alma School and Warner roads for a report of a robbery just before noon on March 29. A suspect appeared to have stolen a packaged box cutter from the store, fought with a store employee and fled out the back of the store, a news release states.
A man later determined to be Richard Ring, 40, was seen jumping a residential fence into a backyard in a neighborhood behind the business, police said.
