Chandler Police: Officer had minor injuries after fight with suspect

A Chandler Police officer suffered minor injuries the night of Aug.  30 during a traffic stop of a motorcyclist, a spokesperson confirmed.

The officer was part of a DUI task force that was operating in central Tempe, near the Arizona State University main campus, according to the spokesperson.

While the officer was attempting to make a traffic stop of a motorcyclist near Apache Boulevard and Rural Road, the motorcyclist began to fight with him. The motorcyclist was eventually detained and faces several charges.

Chandler Police: Officer had minor injuries after fight with suspect

A Chandler Police officer suffered minor injuries the night of Aug.  30 during a traffic stop of a motorcyclist, a spokesperson confirmed.

The officer was part of a DUI task force that was operating in central Tempe, near the Arizona State University main campus, according to the spokesperson.

While the officer was attempting to make a traffic stop of a motorcyclist near Apache Boulevard and Rural Road, the motorcyclist began to fight with him. The motorcyclist was eventually detained and faces several charges.

The officer suffered what the spokesperson described as minor injuries. He was evaluated and cleared by paramedics with the Chandler Fire Department.

Chandler Fire handles all medical evaluations, both on officers and community members, the spokesperson stated.
