Chandler police make arrest in child molestation case
Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Chandler police have arrested a man who they say lured a boy from school bus stop and molested the 7-year-old.
According to police, officers arrived at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of North McQueen Road at 8:06 a.m. July 29, responding to a report of child molestation.
During an investigation, police learned the boy said he was taken by a man on a golf cart to an area in the complex and molested.
Police were able to obtain DNA from investigative leads.
After receiving the results this week from the Arizona Department of Public Safety Forensic Lab, police identified Jesus Jorge Delcampo, one of the apartment complex maintenance workers and investigative leads, as the suspect in the case.
Chandler police arrested Delcampo in Peoria on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Delcampo was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on two counts of molestation of a child and one count of kidnapping.
