Chandler police handle Sunday night, Monday morning incidents

Posted

Chandler Police reported a pair of incidents over the weekend but haven't, as of this writing, issued new details on either incident.

Sunday at about 8 p.m., police said they were investigating an officer-involved shooting near North Country Club Way and West Carla Vista Drive. The suspect was in custody, though CPD didn't name that person nor mention a medical condition.

No officers were injured and there is no current threat to the community, police said.

Monday, shortly after 10:30 a.m., police were on-scene investigating a suspicious item near East Germann Road and South Pioneer Parkway, police said.

Road closures were in place for at least one hour and the public was asked to avoid the area for the time being.

Police later sai the suspicious item was removed and there was no threat to the community. Road closures were lifted, though no further information was provided.
