Chandler police arrest man in Mesa days after fatal hit-and-run

Police made an arrest this week in connection with a fatal collision that occurred July 18 near the intersection of East Chandler Boulevard and North Delaware Street.
Jer'hard Doane Duriso was arrested July 22 outside a Mesa residence. A charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death or injury has been submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review, according to a release from the Chandler Police Department.
The victim, 40-year-old Obed Guadalupe Duarte-Leyva, was operating a motorcycle when he was struck by an SUV. The driver of the SUV fled the scene without stopping to render aid, police said.
