Chandler officials seeking volunteers for Parks and Recreation Month

Chander residents are encouraged to volunteer for the city’s inaugural For Our Parks Day on July 30. Volunteers will restore Snedigar Sportsplex’s Baseball and Softball Fields in one morning, according to the city’s website. 

Volunteers will use physical labor, including raking skinned infields, to prepare the fields for the upcoming sports season. Park staff will be available to provide supplies and guidance. The event will run from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., and those interested can submit a volunteer form found here. 

The event falls within National Park and Recreation month. According to the National Recreation and Park Association,  America has celebrated the month since 1985.
