Chandler mayor: Public input now at work, study sessions

​Before the public input portion of the Chandler City Council’s June 13 meeting, Mayor Kevin Hartke made a mildly surprising announcement.

After pressure from one local activist and a few of his supporters, Hartke has decided to allow public input at council work and study sessions.

“I talked with our city attorney and our staff this week,” Hartke said. “As the parliamentarian of council meetings, I’m able to make changes. As of now, our work sessions and study sessions will have a public-comment portion.”
