Chandler mayor mentions teen violence in state-of-city talk

Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke made several expected points during his Feb. 15 delivery of his State of the City address.

But among the brags about positive economic, employment or infrastructure development was one topic that wasn’t in Hartke’s address in prior years: teen violence.

“We’re working with other communities to prevent and address teen violence,” Hartke said. “We condemn teen violence and recognize the danger and harm it creates among our youth. We’re committed to engage parents and youth to prevent and investigate these acts of violence.”
