The work of two alumni will be presented in Encounters, an exhibit at the Library Gallery on the Pecos campus of Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
The CGCC Visual Arts Program celebrates the art of Dawson Acosta and Natalia López covering 2019 to 2023, which includes their years at CGCC through graduation from Arizona State University.
Acosta is a Phoenix-based comic artist and illustrator, according to a release, and he graduated in 2023 with a B.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration on Painting and Drawing from ASU.
“His work is largely centered on his experiences with romantic relationships and mental illness and expresses this through an auto-biographical comic titled Mushed,” the release stated.
López is a first-generation Mexican-American artist. She grew up in Queen Creek and graduated from CGCC in 2021 with an A.A. in Fine Arts, with an emphasis in art. López earned her B.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration on Painting and Drawing from ASU.
The exhibition will be on view through Oct. 5. The campus is at 2626 E. Pecos Road, Chandler.
