Chandler district: More students eating meals at schools

All students at Chandler Unified School District’s nine Title 1 schools eat lunch and breakfast for free, ever since CUSD began a new program in the spring.

That’s one point Stephanie Howell, director of food and nutrition, mentioned in the course of a update on some statistics, initiatives, changes and programs involving some or all of her 324 employees.

The update, presented to the CUSD Governing Board just prior to its Oct. 23 regular meeting, included many important reminders about CUSD’s role in the K-12 food world and some things Howell and other administrators want to take on or complete soon.
