Chandler district has drug diversion program for high schools

​Without a unanimous vote, the Chandler Unified School District Governing Board approved a high school drug diversion program contract at its July 10 meeting.

Board member Kurt Rohrs dissented in the 4-1 vote, which will allow Community Bridges Inc. to accept referrals from all six CUSD high schools.

Rohrs said his main concern was the lack of expressed permission needed from parents in order for students to participate in the optional program.
