Chandler CTE students tell their stories

Career and technical education has taken center stage as both a battleground set of issues at Chandler Unified School District Governing Board meetings and as a selling point of CUSD’s high school course offerings.

Thirteen CUSD students spoke at a recent board work session to describe some of the best and most rewarding aspects of their CTE programs.

CTE director Lindsay Duran introduced the students by announcing the 59 CTE programs in the district all were listed as “in compliance” in the most recent Arizona Department of Education’s Quality & Compliance Monitoring Results. Fifty-two of the programs received a “distinguished” grade, with the other seven graded as “proficient.”
