The Chandler City Council didn’t really want to go back to voters to ask taxpayers for more bond money so soon after voters approved a $273million general obligation bond.
Neither did most city leaders. But with inflation, city growth and buildout and aging infrastructure around town, Chandler is rapidly running out of bond money and might need to hold a 2025 bond election.
At a June 27 work session, the majority of present council members were in favor of forming an exploratory bond committee. The council has until May 8 of next year to decide if it wants to ask voters to approve bonds in a November 2025 election.
