Chandler council to vote on solar panel project

The Chandler Public Safety Training Facility is one of about 15 city sites that will get much of its electricity from solar panels in the years ahead. The total project cost is more than $26 million, but the city will vote Thursday, April 4, on the$1.8 million for the engineering phase of the project.

The Chandler City Council will discuss a $1.85 million engineering contract on Thursday that could lead to solar energy additions at roughly 15 city sites.

The contract was one of three items pulled for discussion from the Monday, April 1 Chandler City Council study session consent agenda.

During Thursday’s 6 p.m. meeting in the council chambers at City Hall, 88 E. Chicago St., council will likely vote to approve the engineering contract with Ameresco Inc.
