A blunt discussion took place before Chandler City Council approved a university agreement at a recent meeting.
While the council ultimately decided to hand over $275,000 for the next year of Arizona State University’s business incubator and ecosystem building services, it didn’t come without a warning from one council member at a June 26 study session.
Two council members had mostly praise for a program that will be known as Chandler Endeavor, though a presenter admitted its goal of serving 1,000 unique entrepreneurs and innovators within the next year is a lofty goal. However, two other council members took a more terse approach in addressing ASU staff.
