Chandler is poised to set up its first set of e-bike restrictions.
A City Council work session discussion that was contentious at times led to staff direction for creating an e-bike restriction ordinance, directed mainly at minors, addressing helmet use, riding on sidewalks and age restrictions.
Mayor Kevin Hartke started off the work session, which included the city’ senior transportation planner, Jason Crampton, and Assistant City Manager Tadd Willie, by pointing out how many other Valley cities had already enacted some form of e-bike restrictions.
