Chandler Council OKs uses of more than $2M in police funding

Funds came by way of special state budget item

The Chandler City Council authorized the use of $2.25 million in state appropriations for specific Chandler Police Department expenses and purchases with a vote on its consent agenda during its Sept. 21 meeting.

As part of a state’s budget agreement, Gov. Katie Hobbs allowed lawmakers to put several local projects into Senate Bill 1720. Rep. Julie Willoughby, whose District 13 includes Chandler, put in for specific Chandler Police funding, and she was thanked for that at last week’s meetings.
