An ordinance the Chandler City Council gave final approval to on July 14 will make permit renewals a less-cumbersome process.
Ordinance No. 5127 amends a section of city code so that council can set any time frame it wants when it decides to approve an application for a medical cannabis facility use permit.
Kevin Mayo, the city’s planning administrator, told council at a recent study session that the change will align medical cannabis facility permits with the regulation of all other use permits approved by council, which already allow for flexibility in expiration dates at the council’s discretion.
