Chandler council moving ahead with rate hike proposal

Some of the feedback from the public on proposed Chandler water, wastewater and solid waste increases set to go into effect in March 2026 involved not wanting the city to increase rates as dramatically as other Valley municipalities.

No major changes or newly proposed rates evolved from the Chandler City Council’s most recent work session on planned utility rate increases.

Chandler is still planning a 15% across-the-board utility rate hike for water and wastewater service and 6% for solid waste to start in early March 2026 and to change its cost-of-service review from biannual to annual.

But city leaders and staff now possess important feedback.
