Chandler Council mixed on property tax rate

The difference between keeping Chandler’s primary tax rate steady through fiscal 2026, versus lowering it by one cent, is about $412,000 in revenue to the city.

That’s one reason why some Chandler City Council members hedged when asked for their initial thoughts on whether to reduce the primary property tax rate for fiscal 2026.

“I don’t want the only ones to be making a sacrifice, to be the residents of the city,” Council member Jane Poston said. “So, I’d really like to think about it some more.”
