ELECTIONS 2026

Incumbents, Rocha-Miller still ahead in Chandler Council race

Results that have come in the night after polls closed for the election for the three seats up on the Chandler City Council shows two incumbents and one challenger still in the lead.

Jane Poston and Angel Encinas, who are both seeking second terms on Council, along with challenger Cicely Rocha-Miller, were the three frontrunners in Maricopa County's first count reports after polls closed, and on July 22, with more than 42,000 ballots counted, those three were still the top two vote-getters among the six candidates.

The top three vote-getters earn new four-year terms. A need for a Nov. 3 runoff is generated if there aren't three candidates with sufficient percentages of the total vote that are at least at a state-mandated minimum, using a state-mandated formula.
