TEEN VIOLENCE

Chandler Council could decide on teen safety ordinances Thursday

Brass knuckles, teen party host measures have been in works for months

Months of work by Chandler council members and city staff will be put on display in a pair of ordinances scheduled for discussion and a potential vote on Thursday evening.

The 6 p.m. regular council meeting, to be held at City Hall, 88 E. Chicago Street, will have two ordinances on the agenda meant to improve teen safety.

In the wake of the beating death of Preston Lord and increased focus on teen violence in the southeast Valley, council asked staff to put together a pair of ordinances.
