By approving the consent agenda at its March 21 meeting, the Chandler City Council greenlighted $7.8 million contract extensions with three companies to cover the city’s fuel needs at a $4-per-gallon estimated rate.
The contract extends a contract initially created in 2017. It works under assumptions that the city will continue to use about 655,000 gallons of fuel annually, according to a staff report.
The contracts include fuel purchased from card-lock facilities and retail locations, as well as bulk fuel used for generators, remote fuel sites and other equipment, the report states.
