One of dozens of items approved by the Chandler City Council at its June 27 meeting was its 2024-25 primary tax rate.
Though city leaders have bragged repeatedly about having lowered the primary rate nine consecutive years, the city has still consistently collected more overall tax dollars. Dropping the primary tax rate by one penny per $100 of property valuation, the city will still collect more property tax revenue in the year ahead than in 2023-24, as the city’s total assessed valuation of property went up 5.3%.
The city’s secondary rate of 87 cents per $100 of property valuation will remain unchanged in the year ahead.
