Chandler code amendments pass, with some opposition

Stewart, Enchinas opposed specific changes

By approving the consent agenda at its Feb. 22 meeting, the Chandler City Council made law a sweeping list of code amendments.

But the vote on the 15 changes wasn’t unanimous.

Council member Mark Stewart voted no on the code amendment that gives new abilities to the city in the abatement process. He said, at previous meetings, property owners’ rights and residents’ tax and other financial burdens were concerns for him.
