Chandler coach to receive national honor

Chandler High School wrestling coach Vidal Mejia will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame – Arizona Chapter in a Nov. 12 ceremony.

Chandler High School wrestling coach Vidal Mejia will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame – Arizona Chapter in a Nov. 12 ceremony.
Mejia took over as head coach of the Wolves’ wrestling program in 2001.
His teams have more than 450 dual wins. In 2012, his Wolves claimed an Arizona state team championship.
Mejia has coached four national champions, nine All-Americans, 12 individual state champs and 56 state placers.
In addition to his coaching duties, Mejia teaches multimedia/film and TV at Chandler High School.
