Chandler board OKs increase for school rebuild

On the same day the Chandler Unified Governing Board attended a groundbreaking for a full rebuild of one of its oldest schools still in use, the board also unanimously approved a contract increase for one aspect of the project.

The board approved a $400,000 contract increase April 8 to cover a list of design services for the Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School rebuild.

The initial $1.73 million design contract, approved in September 2023, was with a company then called Orcutt Winslow, now rebranded as Grace Design Studios.
