Chandler: Bigger rebates in place for grass removal

Rates discussed at Monday study session

Changes proposed in the City of Chandler’s single-family residential grass removal rebate program began with a survey.

The survey, conducted in April and May of this year, showed that about 85% of those who responded expressed support for two new rebate programs to incentivize water-saving programs.

City of Chandler Water Resources Manager Simone Kjolsrud presented those survey results to the Chandler City Council during a Sept. 15 study session. On Sept. 21, the council voted to approve a consent agenda that included a number of major rate and other changes to its rebate programs at its Thursday night meeting.
