Chandler approves expansion of downtown’s Hilton Garden Inn

The Hilton Garden Inn Chandler Downtown will be expanded.

The Chandler City Council recently approved a development agreement between Spike Lawrence Ventures, LLC, allowing construction of a minimum four-story expansion to the property on the northeast corner of Oregon and Chicago streets.

In May 2022, the council approved an agreement with the developer for a four-story residential housing project on the property, according to a city release.

“With the change in the housing market and the success of the Hilton Garden Inn, Spike Lawrence Ventures requested an amendment to the agreement, allowing the construction of additional hotel rooms, a 3,500-square-foot conference room, additional green space and parking,” the release stated.

The project will add 69 hotel rooms, or 67 if double-sized suites are added.

In addition to the hotel expansion, the project will include Jeannie Martini’s, an Italian restaurant on the bottom level, officials said.

The design is to be consistent with the preliminary development plan previously approved by the city council.
